I am a consummate communicator and storyteller versed at helping people develop and share their own stories.
As a five-year program officer (Marguerite Casey Foundation in Seattle), I played a critical role in conceptualizing and managing high-impact grants and grantee coalitions while helping organizations develop their communications capacity.
As a 29-year journalist (Nashville Tennessean, Boston Globe, Baltimore Sun), I authored stories on sports, lifestyle and education – profiling such people as former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, actor and activist Harry Belafonte, pro tennis great Martina Navratilova, former astronaut and U.S. Senator John Glenn and two Munchkins from the motion picture, The Wizard of Oz.
My stories have been reprinted in publications around the world, and my writing style was praised in the books Sports Writing, the Lively Game by Conrad C. Fink and Minor League Baseball and Local Economic Development by Arthur T. Johnson.
I am proficient in writing, interviewing, computing, planning, organizing, conceptualizing, source building, oral presentation and research/analysis. I am proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Zoom, and Adobe.
